Queen size fitted sheets that actually stay on

An Australian queen mattress measures 152cm x 203cm, and every Bonny fitted sheet is cut to those measurements — worth knowing, because queen sizing isn't universal and imported sheets often arrive slightly wrong. Depth is the part most people overlook. Measure from the top of your mattress to the bottom of the side panel and include any topper you sleep with, since a 5cm topper turns a 25cm mattress into a 30cm one. Our queen fitted sheets have a [XX]cm wall with elastic around the full perimeter rather than just the corners, which is the difference between a sheet that grips evenly and one that rides up by morning.

On fabric, thread count is close to meaningless above about 400 — higher numbers usually mean thinner yarns twisted together to inflate the figure. Fibre length is what matters, and long-staple cotton spins into a smoother, stronger yarn, which is why ours soften with each wash instead of pilling. It's also the better pick if you sleep hot, since microfibre and polyester trap heat against you. Chocolate and the warmer neutrals hide everyday marks well, while whites and creams are the safer long-term choice if you change your quilt cover often. A complete bed needs a flat sheet and pillowcases too — the queen sheet set bundles all three and works out cheaper than buying separately. Not sure on size? Our bed sizes guide has every Australian dimension in one place.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size is a queen fitted sheet in Australia?

Our king-size doona dimensions are 240cm (width) by 210cm (length).

We offer three variations, specifically designed for the warmer seasons, colder seasons, and an all-year-rounder.

Bonny’s king-size doonas are sized to provide ample coverage and a perfect fit on a king-size bed, or give a drapey, cosy look for a queen-size.

An Australian queen mattress is 152cm x 203cm, so a queen fitted sheet is made to those dimensions plus a wall deep enough to tuck under.

Australian sizing differs from US and UK queen, so imported sheets often don't fit properly. Ours are made to Australian measurements. You can see every size in our full size guide.

What's the difference between a fitted sheet and a flat sheet?

A fitted sheet has elasticated edges and sits directly on the mattress, holding itself in place. A flat sheet is a plain rectangle that goes over you, sitting between you and your quilt.

Most Australian beds use both. If you only want one, the fitted sheet is the essential — it protects the mattress and is the layer that gets washed most often.

Will a queen fitted sheet fit a deep mattress?

Yes. Our queen fitted sheets have a [XX]cm wall depth, which fits most Australian mattresses including pillow-top styles and mattresses with a topper added.

If your mattress plus topper is deeper than [XX]cm, the sheet will still go on but with less to tuck underneath. Measure from the top of your mattress to the bottom of the side panel to check.
